Event Schedule
Events run twice a month for a little over an eight-day period (specifically, 199 hours in JP and 202 hours in Global) on the following schedules:
Japan
1st event
Start: Every 15th @ 3 PM JST (UTC/GMT +9)
Second half: 19th @ 3 PM JST (UTC/GMT +9)
End: 23rd @ 10 PM JST (UTC/GMT +9)
2nd event
Start: Last day of the month (30th/31st, or Feb 28/29th) @ 3 PM JST (UTC/GMT +9)
Second half: 4th of the following month @ 3 PM JST (UTC/GMT +9)
End: 8th of the following month @ 10 PM JST (UTC/GMT +9)
Global
1st event
Start: First Saturday of the month @ 12 PM (GMT -5)
Second half: Following Wednesday @ 12 PM (GMT -5)
End: Next Sunday @ 10 PM (GMT -5)
2nd event
Start: Third Saturday of the month @ 12 PM (GMT -5)
Second half: Following Wednesday @ 12 PM (GMT -5)
End: Next Sunday @ 10 PM (GMT -5)
If this is a little unclear, here’s an example: event starts on March 2nd, 2024, which was the first Saturday of that month. The second half opened up March 7th, 2024, which was the Wednesday following the event start. The event ended March 11th, 2024, which was the next Sunday from the event start.
If you are in a region that observes daylight savings time/summer time, these timezones are fixed and do not adjust for that so you’ll need to keep that in mind as the time changes.
Event Flow
At the start of the event, the event song is open to play, but requires at least 100 passes per play. You can earn passes by playing regular lives or ensemble lives (you must use at least 1 BP per live; while you can play lives with 0 BP you will gain no points or ribbons for doing so) or doing idol work (no BP cost necessary).
On the second half of the event, the remaining half of the mini talks are unlockable, and there is a new option to use 10x (1000 passes) per event song play.
After the event ends, the event song will be added to the regular song lineup.
Event Points
Rewards are earned by reaching point totals. Points and passes scale based on BP used. Song difficulty is not a direct factor in points (however due to higher difficulties having more notes to hit it is a factor in score, which is used in calculating the extra score.)
BP | Point multiplier | Passes earned |
---|---|---|
1 BP | 1x points | 10 passes |
2 BP | 2x points | 20 passes |
3 BP | 3x points | 30 passes |
6 BP | 6x points | 60 passes |
10 BP | 10x points | 100 passes |
The points earned per live are a total of the “基本イベントpt/Extra Event pt” and the “スコアボーナス/Extra Score”, multiplied by “イベントスキルボーナス/Extra Event Buff”.
All of these figures are based off of normal lives; while you can earn points in ensemble lives it will generally be less than in normal lives and be less consistent, so it’s far better to stick with normal lives to reach reward goals.
基本イベントpt/Extra Event pt
This is a fixed number of points you receive for successfully clearing a live.
BP | Points |
---|---|
1 BP | 2000 |
2 BP | 4000 |
3 BP | 6000 |
6 BP | 12000 |
10 BP | 20000 |
スコアボーナス/Extra Score
This is based off of your score, and is determined by rounding down your score to the nearest 5000 and dividing by a certain number based on BP.
BP | Point formula |
---|---|
1 BP | score/5000 |
2 BP | score/2500 |
3 BP | score/1666.6666… |
6 BP | score/833.3333… |
10 BP | score/500 |
Ex: You clear a 10 BP live with a score of 3,799,969.
3799969 rounded down to 3795000
3795000 / 500 = 7590
The score bonus is 7590 points.
イベントスキルボーナス/Extra Event Buff
This is a multiplier based off of the cards you have in a unit from the related theme scout banner. The bonus percentage is based off of card rarity and uncap number for that card. You must have these cards in the unit you use for a live play in order for the bonus to take effect (either on-stage or in the support slots).
Rarity | Initial (1) | 1st uncap (2) | 2nd uncap (3) | 3rd uncap (4) | 4th uncap / MAX (5) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
3 star | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
4 star | 5 | 15 | 25 | 35 | 50 |
5 star | 20 | 50 | 75 | 100 | 150 |
Theme Scout Banner
This banner opens the day before the event, and offers two 3 star cards, one 4 star, and one 5 star card. There is also a related story that is free to read while the banner is open (once the banner ends, you will need to use diamonds to unlock the story or wait until it appears as part of those free story campaigns).
Assuming you obtain and fully uncap all the featured cards, the potential total event bonus is 210%.
Cross Theme Scout Banners
There are two scout banners tied by a common theme and story. Each banner offers one 3 star card, one 4 star card, and one 5 star card. The first banner will be available five days before the event start date, and the second banner along with the story will be available the day before event start. (As with the theme scout story, the cross theme scout story will remain open until the banner ends; if you did not read it while it was open you will need to use diamonds to unlock the story or wait until it’s available in a free story campaign).
Assuming you obtain and fully uncap all the featured cards in both banners, the potential total event bonus is 410%.
As of May 2024, this banner type is currently only in the Japanese version of the game.
Scout Coins
The gacha in ES!! technically does not have a pity system, but has a close equivalent in the scout coin exchange. For every pull you do on a specific banner, you will gain scout coins; a single pull will earn 1 coin and a ten pull will earn 10 (Using the paid diamond one pull option still only earns 1 coin). You can use the coins in the exchange for cards; the exchange will offer the featured cards for that banner, as well as two 5 star and two 4 star cards from an earlier banner. The coins required vary by rarity:
| 5 star card | 300 coins | | 4 star card | 100 coins | | 3 star card | 50 coins |
Additionally, in the Japanese version the exchange also offer 2x large status pieces and 10x medium status pieces of each color, and 1,000L$ for 10 coins each.
The coins are banner-specific and you cannot use coins earned from pulling on one banner in an exchange for a different banner. This restriction also applies to the two banners in the cross theme scout.
Unlike select coins/memorial coins/ES coins, scout coins DO expire (typically two weeks after the banner itself has ended).
Event Live 基本イベントpt/Extra Event pt
Since the event live uses passes instead of BP, the baseline event point differs:
Passes | Multiplier | Baseline points |
---|---|---|
100 | 1x | 10000 |
500 | 5x | 50000 |
1000 | 10x | 100000 |
2000 | 20x | 200000 |
(20x is in Global only after a certain time.)
The score bonus and event skill bonus are calculated the same as regular lives, with the exception of the score bonus with 20x multiplier only available in Global:
Passes | Point formula |
---|---|
2000 | rounded score/250 |
Idol Work
All work types (daily/ES) will give you points and passes, which scale with BP. Unlike with lives, you can earn these even when using 0 BP.
There will be an event-specific work available as well, however you need to create specific work outfits in order to do the event work. You can get the work outfit patterns in the event ribbon exchange for 300 ribbons. The event work will give more event points and will drop random ribbon amounts as a potential GREAT bonus reward.
Regular (Non-Event) Work
BP | Multiplier | Points earned | Passes earned |
---|---|---|---|
0 BP | 1x | 250 | 1 |
1 BP | 4x | 1000 | 4 |
2 BP | 8x | 2000 | 8 |
3 BP | 12x | 3000 | 12 |
Event Work
BP | Multiplier | Points earned | Passes earned |
---|---|---|---|
0 BP | 1x | 375 | 1 |
1 BP | 4x | 1500 | 4 |
2 BP | 8x | 3000 | 8 |
3 BP | 12x | 4500 | 12 |
Special New Song Events
There are two other kinds of events which are technically new song events with some minor differences.
Shuffle Unit Events
These are the same as other new song events, with the exception that there are no 3 star reward cards, only a 5 star and two 4 star cards.
Additionally, instead of there being an event scount banner with a totally seperate story, there is a shuffle scount banner with two member cards, one 4 star and one 5 star. However, there are no 3 stars specific to the banner, so the event skill bonus percentage for the 4 star is modified (the potential total event bonus is still 210%):
Rarity | Initial (1) | 1st uncap (2) | 2nd uncap (3) | 3rd uncap (4) | 4th uncap / MAX (5) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
4 star | 7 | 20 | 30 | 45 | 60 |
5 star | 20 | 50 | 75 | 100 | 150 |
Climax Events
These are new song events that mark something important for a unit (recently they’ve been used as a lead in for the TRIP album series releases, but this was also used for the story where Ryuseitai changed their unit structure from having one leader to everyone being the leader). Instead of unlocking the story via points, the first half will be free to read at the start of the event, and the remaining half will unlock at the start of the second half. Due to this the point rewards shuffle a bit, but the points to earn cards is same as usual (3.5 million for the first 5 star, etc.). Additionally, cards for members belonging to the focus unit will get a boost in fans earned during the event period. In the ribbon exchange, the available memorial coins increases from 15 to 30. Otherwise, everything else is the same.
Event Rewards
Points
New song events will have cards that can only be obtained while the event is ongoing or via the memorial exchange. Generally there will be one 5 star, one 4 star, and two 3 star cards for members of the featured unit. All cards will have unlockable room and MV outfits, and the 4 and 5 star will have a SPP specific to the song. (For units with less than four members, one or both of the three stars will be of a member from a different unit and will not have unlockable outfits.)
The points required to get these cards are fixed:
5 star
Uncap | Points required |
---|---|
1 | 3,500,000 |
2 | 7,500,000 |
3 | 11,000,000 |
4 | 15,000,000 |
5 | 22,000,000 |
4 star
Uncap | Points required |
---|---|
1 | 1,000,000 |
2 | 2,400,000 |
3 | 3,300,000 |
4 | 5,000,000 |
5 | 10,200,000 |
3 star
Uncap | Points required | Uncap | Points required |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 80,000 | 1 | 320,000 |
2 | 440,000 | 2 | 550,000 |
3 | 850,000 | 3 | 950,000 |
4 | 1,150,000 | 4 | 1,400,000 |
5 | 1,600,000 | 5 | 1,900,000 |
For units with five members there will be two 4 stars, and the reward points will change:
4 star
Uncap | Points required | Uncap | Points required |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 900,000 | 1 | 1,000,000 |
2 | 2,400,000 | 2 | 2,000,000 |
3 | 2,900,000 | 3 | 3,300,000 |
4 | 5,000,000 | 4 | 4,600,000 |
5 | 10,100,000 | 5 | 10,200,000 |
Other than cards, the rewards will include diamonds, whistles/megaphones (restores 3/10 BP, respectively), crown medals (necessary for idol rank), and training items (gems/crystals/tickets). Usually, but not always, there are also event story chapter unlocks, special backgrounds, and plushies for the office. Since these vary the points required will not be consistent. That said, typically the last crown medal is given at 30 million points, and after there are only training items as rewards until 100 million points, so other than bragging rights there is little point to grinding beyond 30 million points.
Ribbon Exchange
Ribbons drop as live rewards in a random amount that scales with BP. With 10 BP per live, I’ve seen it as low as 26 and as high as 32, so about 30 ribbons per 10 BP is a good enough estimate.
Ribbons also drop as a random GREAT bonus for event work. This means that it isn’t guaranteed — using 3 BP per work I’ve gotten as much as a total of 30 ribbons, but there were times where I got none at all!
The reward you should get before any others is the event work outfit pattern at 300 ribbons. After, the focus should be on memorial coins at 500 ribbons each. You can exchange memorial coins for cards and other rewards from past events (an event’s rewards are added to the memorial exchange shop after a year).
The remaining ribbon rewards are diamonds, L$, and training items (gems/crystals/tickets). I wouldn’t bother with these unless you’ve already gotten all available memorial coins/don’t have enough ribbons for memorial coins and just need to use them up.
Reward Goals/Parking, and how to reach them
Easy enough, you care about getting the 5 star card at least once, which is earned at 3.5 million points. Let’s set the goal to earn 4 million points by end of event, to make it nice and even for calculations.
Let’s assume you’ll use 10 BP per live, and that you can reach of score of at least 3 million for every live you play. So:
Baseline: 20000
Bonus: 6000
You can expect to earn 26000 points per live.
To reach the goal of 4 million event points:
4000000 / 26000 = 158.846
You would have to do about 159 normal lives using 10 BP per play to reach the goal.
What about the bonus from the event scount cards? Let’s say you managed to get a fully uncapped 3 star and 4 star, for a total event buff of 55%:
(26000 * 0.55 = 14300) + 26000 = 40300
Your expected event points per live is now 40300.
4000000 / 40300 = 99.255
Now, you’d have to do about 100 normal lives using 10 BP per play to reach the goal.
Those numbers are not including the points earned from event lives, so more calculation is needed. Remember that you need to play normal lives to earn passes, and using 10 BP earns 100 passes. Let’s assume you’re only going to use 1000 passes per event live play, which means you need to play 10 normal lives at 10 BP first. Thus:
No event bonus:
Normal lives x 10: 26000 x 10 = 260000
Event live: 100000 + 6000 = 106000
260000 + 106000 = 366000
So 366000 points each time.
4000000 / 366000 = 10.928
To reach 4 million points, you’d have to play 110 normal lives using 10 BP and 11 event lives using 1000 passes, for a total of 121 plays.
Event bonus of 55%:
Normal lives x 10: 40300 x 10 = 403000
Event live: (106000 * 0.55 = 58300) + 106000 = 164300
403000 + 164300 = 567300
So 567300 points each time.
4000000 / 567300 = 7.050
To reach 4 million points, you’d have to play 80 normal lives using 10 BP and 8 event lives using 1000 passes, for a total of 88 plays.
General tips
All the above information should be enough for you to run with and figure out your own approach and playstyle towards these events. I’ll also offer some more minor tips based on my approach that may or may not help you as well:
-
Always do a normal live with 10 BP. Since points scale with BP, you won’t really lose anything by playing with 3/6 BP at a time, but 10 BP is just more time efficient. I’d only use less if there were other mission campaigns ongoing that are based on number of plays, e.g. you’re trying to get enough birthday clackers/hearts for an idol’s birthday (since those are a set drop and don’t scale with BP).
-
Set your two cards with the highest event skill bonus/buff in the support slots, and keep them there. Let auto lineup pick the cards for the live/stage slots for whichever specific song you’ve picked.
-
Play the highest difficulty that you can reliably full combo — difficulty is not a factor in point calculation, but score is, and higher difficulty levels will have more notes in a chart and thus higher score.
-
Song type doesn’t matter, with the exception that you should avoid ALL type songs as they lack a unit bonus in scoring and the handicaps don’t make up for that.
-
For the event song, you should be stocking up on passes earned and waiting until the 10x multplier option is available in the second half of the event. You shouldn’t be grinding on the song during the first half. At most, I’d recommend playing each difficulty level once to get a feel for the chart, and then clearing the song to unlock available mini talks (using the 1x option to conserve passes).
-
The song bonuses (the rewards you get for hitting certain score/combo ranks/play counts) that you earn while the event is on are reset when the song is added to the regular lineup, so it’s worth clearing each difficulty at least once to get the score/combo bonuses, then re-earn them again after the event ends.
-
If you are finding it hard going between different difficulties, you could try setting the note speed if you haven’t done so yet. I personally set it at 6.0 which is the default speed for Hard — for me, the default setting for Easy is far too slow and Expert is too fast, but Hard’s speed is juuuuuust right.
-
There will be times during the event where you don’t really feel like playing/can’t get an ideal play setup, but JP has no auto play. As a compromise, you could just do a song on Easy to use up BP/gain points. Since there’s less notes and they’re not complex (for example flick notes are not in any Easy chart at all), it’s easy to play it while holding your phone in your hands horizontally. You should still be playing higher difficulties when you’re actively grinding for points, but if you just want to keep up progression and your score for a specific song on Easy is 3,200,000 while the same song on Expert is 3,400,000 then I wouldn’t sweat it.
Global-specific info
The point rewards and breakdown are based on the Japanese version, but the methods, card reward points, and score breakdowns work the same in the Global version. There are some minor differences in the Global version that may change how you approach events:
-
48 hours after the start of the second half of the event (in other words, Friday at 12 PM (GMT -5)), the 10x option for event lives changes to 20x, so you’d use 2000 passes per play for a 20x multiplier. The 1x and 5x options remain the same.
-
All diamond values are multiplied by 10, e.g. full 10 BP recovery costs 20 diamonds in JP but 200 in Global. This applies to diamonds given as event rewards and login bonuses as well.
-
In Global you can unlock auto play for a song on a difficulty where you’ve cleared with a full combo. Ex: you can use auto play for a song on Hard if you’ve full comboed it on Hard, but you can’t use it for Easy or Expert if you haven’t full comboed those difficulties. With this, you can simply grind on the songs with the hardest levels without worrying about being tired/dropping what you’re currently doing/etc. to maximize for points.
-
The Basic Score and Bonus Score Talents (in My Profile -> Talent) don’t count for high score ranking, but they DO count for point calculation. With both at level 30 (max), it will give a potential extra score from 30000 - 155000. That’s not much in and of itself, but it may help to push you over, and every little bit helps, doesn’t it?
-
The Event Boost Talent at level 20 (max) will give an extra 6000 points on the first live (normal/ensemble/event) while an event is active. Again, not much, but every little bit etc.
-
In addition to using diamonds to restore BP like in JP, there are whistles offered via the store. There is a permanently available package of 12 time-limited whistles for US $1.99 (once per day). Additionally, when an event starts there is an additional package of 20 time-limited whistles plus 120 paid diamonds for US $1.99 (once per day), and another package of 200 time-limited whistles plus 249 permanent whistles for US $39.99. The math works out in favor of buying the equivalent diamond pack (the US $39.99 diamond pack has a total of 5646 diamonds -> 5646 / 20 = 282.3), but there may be a psychological factor in relying on those whistles to restore BP while saving your diamonds for scout banners, plus you can stock the permanent whistles for use in later events. Up to you, but this is an option available in this version.
